MOSTLY HEARD RARELY SEEN F/W 2023. Evolution, culture, tradition, and representation are the core DNA components that make up the F/W23 season of Mostly Heard Rarely Seen. Constant evolution and experimentation are seen from collection to collection, but F/W 2023 has taken its furthest leap yet by combining its vintage Japanese nature with traditional western menswear. Through a combination of sourcing traditional menswear fabrications and researching suit trims and finishes while still maintaining progressive techniques, the brand has truly evolved into a traditional fashion house with a streetwear twist. Individual floating suit labels that read "Mostly Heard Rarely Seen" in up to 8 different languages serve as a form of representation, which is reinforced by the in-house production of custom seam bindings that read the same across a number of garments’ exposed seams. Seasonless garments like kimonos and bombers are presented in a new format. This season's collection features a progression of increasingly alloyed sweaters from item to item, ranging from fully sweater goose down kimono jackets and basketball shorts to drip jacquard detailing and sweater graphic appliques to standard drop-shoulder tees with fully knit sweater collars. These handmade knits vary in linkage and density, giving each garment a completely different look and feel. Newly sourced vintage brushed camo is introduced and used on both the front and reverse face of the fabric. The evolution of our reversible garments, such as the sweater and camo puffer, initially stemmed from fabrication, creating a snowball effect that resulted in the completely inside-out construction, showcasing the custom-branded trims, standard hang tags, and even exposed pocket bags. Relentless experimentation led to some of the brand’s most progressive silhouettes ever, such as a double-sleeve hoodie, reversible hood openings, and sweater-hoodie hybrids with the front sides of garments seen on the back.

MHRS F/W 2023 shows our archetypal approach to experimentation with fabric, silhouettes, trims, and techniques. The sweater transitions in particular create a common thread through the season, weaving all of these completely unique pieces into one cohesive collection.
